Megan and Aran Crowned National Champs

Tennis First Grantees Megan Knight and Aran Selvaraasan were crowned the 16U Lexus Junior National Champions this weekend, securing wild cards to the main draw of the Junior Championships, Wimbledon. 

The LTA National Championships are prestigious events with previous winner including Jack Draper, Harriet Dart and 2023 Junior Wimbledon Champion and former grantee, Henry Searle. 

Megan adds to her collection, having previously claimed the 12U and 14U titles. She battled from a set down against fellow grantee, Daniella Britton to eventually win 2-6, 6-3, 6-0. Daniella has earned her spot at the qualifying event at Junior Wimbledon later this summer. 

On the doubles court, Megan teamed up with Hollie Smart to claim the title with a straight sets win over Daniella Britton and Edie Griffiths. 

At just 14 years old Aran became the first qualifier to win the title since 2021, winning 7 matches and knocking out 4 seeds en route to lifting the trophy. In a three set thriller, Aran overcame No.8 seed Vincent Fletcher 7-6(2), 2-6, 6-2. A fantastic week and his biggest title to date.
