More Grantee success at 18U Nationals

Last week it was the turn of the 18U National Championships, which took place again on the grass in the sunshine at Surbiton Tennis Club.

Once again, Tennis First was well represented in all the draws, with a number of Grantees, past and present, making the finals.

In the Singles event, Will Nolan reached the final of the Boys draw, narrowly losing out in the end to William Jansen 7-6, 6-4, whilst Louis Bowden also had a terrific run, reaching the semi finals of the event.

In the Girls' draw, former Grantee Eva Shaw (pictured left) achieved a double, taking both the 18U and the 16U titles, which is a terrific achievement at such a young age. She beat fellow former Grantee, Kylie Bilchev in a tightly fought three-setter (2-6, 7-5, 7-6). Congratulations on a great couple of weeks Eva!

On to the Boys' doubles event, where Will Nolan and former Grantee, Derrick Chen (pictured) were crowned the Champions, after another excellent run.

Well done to all involved and it's great to see the youngsters out on the grass is such wonderful conditions. Good luck for the rest of the season.
