Grantees win Grade 1 titles on grass
Cameron Rae lifted the trophy after claiming the 11U title at Lexus Grass Court Championships in Frinton-on-Sea. Cameron came through comfortably in straight sets to reach the final where he came across fellow grantee Matyas Oprchal. The two battled it out in the final with Cameron coming out on top 6-1, 6-4.
Sahara Baptiste claimed the Girls’ title with a 6-3, 6-4 win over Emma Fu in the final. Sahara displayed some fantastic tennis throughout the main draw and qualifying rounds. Sahara also claimed the doubles title by clinching a championship tie-break.
In the 12U event, Oskar Laskowski won the Boys’ title after a close final which came down to a championship tie-break which he won 6-3, 4-6, 10-4 against Caleb Griffith.
What a fantastic experience for all the players to test their skills on the grass court. Well done to all the grantees who competed.
